Owner

Duncan Starr-Boltt

“I enjoy challenging myself, as only when I have a real challenge and goal, do I train to my best. My biggest challenge to date was setting a world record for the most consecutive wallballs; 452.  I also attempted to swim the English Channel and swam the length of lake Windermere (12.5 miles) in 8 hours and 50 minutes in 2009. This was a fantastic challenge.”

“What I like most about CrossFit, is the constant challenges it poses. There is always more strength to build and more skills to master.”

Luke Taber

Previously employed in the food industry for 5 years as a chef then a product developer, meaning alongside my degree I have a very in depth knowledge about nutrition and diet.

“I love the fitness industry & I see myself as a student of fitness. I was overweight growing up and I really have struggled with injuries and to initially put on weight and gain strength. Because of this I have learned an incredible amount over my years in the fitness industry. I would now list nutrition and strength training as my two strongest subject. I love to study but I learn best by taking on challenges and training myself. I have competed in strong man competitions, Crossfit competitions, ultra marathon, Rowing marathon, Cycling challenge, and a lot more to come. With each challenge I learn so much about coaching and programming and I really aim to inspire my clients. My ambition and aim is to impart my years of learning and experience in fitness and weight management in order to help people avoid the mistakes I made. In turn I want to set them on a quicker path to be the person they want and deserve to be.”

I started sports early, training in gymnastics from the age of 4 to 11 reaching county level. After stopping gymnastics I fell out of love with fitness and exercise but re-discovered it in my early 20’s needing some sort of outlet and motivation to help deal with day to day life.
I quickly discovered how much physical activity and fitness were helping me with mood, self-esteem, confidence, health, anxiety and so much more, so I began to really focus on my training, eventually finding CrossFit which effected my life a lot. I made new friends, it helped with my mental health, my motivation was up and I was getting stronger and fitter. It opened new doors and opportunities for me, giving me the confidence to run a half marathon, go on hiking holidays, learn to ski, compete in competitions and enter the CrossFit Open where I managed a top 5% in the world finish.
I’m really improving myself through sport and exercise and I began to realise how great it would be to be able to help others in the same way, to achieve new goals and discover new limits to conquer, to grow in confidence and have a bit of a lifeline for difficult times. This is how I discovered my passion for coaching. Starting small with a specialty gymnastics class alongside a full-time job and then broadened my scope from there, with experience ranging from coaching children developmental gymnastics and CrossFit through to training adults in group and in 1:1 settings. Finally making the move to coaching full-time. I strongly believe that my own experience with life and training as well as the many different classes I’ve been to/ran and people I’ve worked/trained with is what makes me a Coach you can put your trust in to help you on your jour

With a strong background in sport, rowing to Great Britain standard, playing county tennis and rugby to a national standard, exercise is a major part of my life.

Since qualifying, I have coached weight loss classes in the Maldives as well as coaching rowing at Cambridge University.

Outside of competitive sport I am always up for a challenge, having canoed the width of Britain and completed the Three Peaks challenge. My attempt to cycle from John O’ Groats to Lands End unfortunately ended early following injury. More recently I have competed in ‘Tough Mudder’ and ‘Spartan Race’ events and I’m always looking for new adventures.

CrossFit provides the variety and strength and skills challenges to make it enjoyable every session.

My passion for fitness has stemmed from a young age. As a former England gymnast, I have competed at national levels, winning British and regional titles. This experience is part of why I love to keep myself fit and healthy and I only wish to help others achieve their own fitness goals.

I also have experience in powerlifting and strength training. Since starting crossfit, I have found a new love for the sport, being able to combine all of my skills to unlock my own fitness potential feels most rewarding to me.

My ambition as a personal trainer is to help you level up your own fitness by building a happy and healthy relationship with exercise so you can perform at your strongest and fittest potential. No matter what your goal is or your fitness level, I am here to help you achieve your goals!
